Description of La Bible. Apocryphes
The Holy Bible. Apocrypha
The Apocrypha are valuable to study literary forms such as the production context of canonical works and to hear dissenting religious movements of Judaism and ancient Christianity.
Deuterocanonical Books (Apocrypha in Protestantism)
Deuterocanonical (Greek δευτερος second) means "entered secondarily in the barrel," which does not imply a ranking of the degree of inspiration.
The Catholic Church called apocryphal texts she has not included in its barrel while the churches of the Reformation called the Pseudepigrapha. With regard to the writings of the Old Testament, she called deuterocanonical those Protestant churches called apocryphal.
The difference is that Christianity was first inspired to view the Septuagint which contains many books that were not in the Hebrew Bible. In the sixteenth century humanists like Desiderius Erasmus and Jacques Lefèvre d'Etaples and Protestants back to the Hebrew text where Jerome had compiled Greek and Hebrew sources.
Catholics and Orthodox argue that the short barrel retained by the Reformed Churches, was set by the Synod of Jamnia Jewish doctors, after the appearance of Christianity and reaction against him.
The deuterocanonical books of the New Testament are widely accepted by the Christian churches.
