CLIMB Ferrara and 'a mobile app for the volunteers of the walking bus of the city of Ferrara.

It allows to manage the various activities of service (shifts of volunteers, routes and stops, daily attendance of children, parental contact). Also it allows children possess proximity devices to check automatically.

The walking bus is "bus" that move on foot formed by a caravan of children who every morning go to group schools, accompanied by at least two adults, a "driver" in front and a "controller" at the bottom, which closes the row. the walking bus starts from a fixed point and stops at various stops, "picking up" passengers and following a set time. the kids can thus travel to in the company school, know more about their area and make the move, but with the security to two accompanying adults.

The technologies to service the independent mobility of children implemented by the CLIMB project currently concern on the "walking bus" service. To support the walking bus, the following technologies were developed:

- This mobile app for the volunteers of the "line" of the walking bus allows you to manage the various activities of the service (management of shifts of volunteers, substitute routes, daily attendance of children, ...)

- Smart devices for children that allow you to record the presence of children / passengers and volunteers at bus stops and on the way of walking bus. Such devices, integrated with the mobile application, allow to automate the collection of information on children who take part in the walking bus for each day and for each stop.
