Vulvar lichen are dermatoses frequently found in clinical practice, presenting different signs and non-specific symptoms.
Since vulvology is a relatively young discipline, with few experts worldwide, university courses and graduate schools do not create the necessary skills among the specialists targeted by women. This results in dispersion of knowledge, terminological confusion and ineffective therapies because they are not 'targeted'. Patients suffering from genital disorders consult General Practitioners, Gynecologists, Dermatologists, but also Urologists and Infectiologists in an attempt to heal from disorders that interfere with their ual and social life and undermine their quality of life.
This course aims to provide a basic vulvological training dedicated to Lichen and wants to overcome the cultural sectors by addressing all professional figures (Gynecologists, Dermatologists, Infectious Diseases, Urologists, General Physicians and Obstetricians) who care for women. Language, topics and clinical frameworks have been chosen to guide, recognize and treat correctly.
The Faculty, made up of both Dermatologists and Gynecologists, will offer multidisciplinary cues and interactions. The invited professors are members of the Italian Interdisciplinary Society of Vulvology-SIIV and of the International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease-ISSVD and actively contribute to the growth and dissemination of Vulvology in Italy and in the world.
The different Vulvar Lichen will be framed and presented highlighting mainly the clinical and therapeutic aspects and since their morphology is varied and complex, a session dedicated to differential diagnosis will compare the dermoscopic and histological pictures.
The bio-social consequences such as oncogenic risk and psychoual impact will be explored. It will also propose a path for early diagnosis in the field of territorial medicine.
Finally, an interactive session will present clinical pictures and allow participants to update the acquired knowledge and make the correct diagnosis.
